The mission of the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition at Duke University Medical Center is to deliver outstanding clinical service to our patients with Endocrine related disorders, pose questions concerning important issues in our specialty and search for answers through our research efforts and teach other physicians and students aspects of our clinical specialty. Our programs focus on the most pressing issues we face including diabetes, osteoporosis, lipid management, pituitary and adrenal abnormalities, and thyroid disease.
Members of our division provide consultative care through the VA Consult Service and the Duke Consult Service. In addition, we service many outpatient clinics including two VA clinics, the Duke Endocrine Clinic, the Structure House, several outreach clinics throughout North Carolina, and an osteoporosis program that includes on-site individualized physical therapy assessment and education. We are a leading referral center for patients with endocrine disease and offer intensive education programs for patients suffering from diabetes.
